A closer inspection reveals a sad unleveled wooden gazebo with protruding rusted nails, its missing rail and pieces of shards lying around it. The plastic and fiberglass play structure in the centre of the Padang had its railings come off its groove and several other broken play equipment undoubtedly makes our playground unsafe and “accidents waiting to happen ".
“I am worried to let my children play here because the paint is peeling off and exposing rough rusty surfaces. Several of the play equipment is also broken and sharp edges could easily cause injuries.” proclaim a resident, whose children frequent the playground every evening.
Longtime residents claimed that they'd never seen the council check on the playground equipment and hope that MPSJ will look into the problem and repairs or better still upgrade its facilities; and hopes that they would develop a stronger maintenance culture on the way it upkeep’s the amenities for us taxpayers.

Whilst MPSJ signboards situated around the Padang carries the disclaimer against accidents/ injuries sustained by visitors to the park, we really need to ask ourselves if we are really going to sit by until our children or someone else's child get hurt or worse while playing in this unsafe environment.
The 3 Greens Pro-tem Committee will be looking to bring this to the attention of MPSJ in hopes they’d address the issue ASAP and it wouldn't hurt for you, our neighbors to also pick-up the phone and call the number on the MPSJ signboard ( 03 80263131 MPSJ Unit Aduan ) to hasten the process.

about time MPSJ did something about this.
I called sometime in May when my son cut himself against the plastic slide but untill now still no response. I do not allow him to play on the structure anymore
We have written to En.Ismail Kamal ( MPSJ Councilor - Zon 3 ) with regards to issue at hand as well as copied our ADUN Hannah Yeoh. Hannah has assured us via reply that she has instructed her ppl to look into our situation.

Some of the committee had a chance to meet up with our new Zon 3 MPSJ Councillor, Rajiv Rishyakaran who assured us repairs for our playgound equipment will attended to soon

Don't allow your child to play in that playground until the playground equipments has not changed.
if your child has been injured in an accident in a public playground,such as playground accidents Then you should talk to experienced solicitor to file personal injury claim.
If kids can't be safe in a playground for just a few minutes, just think what could happen to them at a summer camp. Summer camp nurses are essential. They can help kids through all kinds of bumps and bruises.
I am also concern about the area where the kids play football. They play the game pretty rough and the ball will go all directions at high speed. The ball even got tangled with the wires. All the cars park closer to that area were being hit many times while those taking a walk are in jeopardy of being hit by the ball too. The grass in that area were dead. In the first place, are we suppose to erect 2 goals there and let them play soccer? Not bias of this game but if you have seen the way they play, you will know.
The goal post are placed there by MPSJ for the children to play. No one is forced to park their cars around the playground so park somewhere else instead of blaming the children.
I agree. Let the children be... or do you want them to do less productive things like drugs or stealing. Parks are erected to encourage positive activity.
Walk somewhere else or park somewhere else and don't be so selfish...
